It’s the third Saturday Sangria of the summer (woohoo, alliteration!), and I’m only now making it around to featuring a red wine! It was about time!
Never one to shy away from big, bold flavours, I’m going full-throttle into red wine mode by showcasing rich red berries with this week’s pairing.
This week’s sangria is from a lovely blog called Yeah… Imma eat that… and that’s pretty much how I feel about this week’s recipe. Berries and citrus fruits are hands down my favourite fruits (it’s okay to have several fruits as favourites, right?), and anything that puts both together in the same place is a winner, in my books. For this sangria, I’d recommend Cabernet Franc, which has similar bright flavours of berries and soft tannins that won’t overpower the fruitiness. If you really wanted to go all out with the berry flavours, you could also opt for a fruit wine, such as our Country Mist Wildberry Chianti, which would also be a terrific match. Either way, it’s bound to be a hit!
Cheers to kicking off July in style!
